(Your!) Definition of Success

SHOW NOTES – Episode 1, Season 2 – (Your!) Definition of Success

How do you define success?  If you change the definition can you feel prouder, happier, stronger, better?

Carolyn says:

  1. Definition: a favorable or desired outcome, or the attainment of wealth, favor or eminence.
  2. Measure yourself by what you actually want, not by what other people think success is.
  3. Measure by who you are, not what you have.
  4. Look at what you are doing, and see how you are living most of your days
  5. “I feel successful when I am enjoying most of my days”

Becca says:

  1. Focus on congruency, meaning what you think, feel, say, and do are in alignment.
  2. Actively doing just a little of what you like to do on a daily basis can make you feel like you are on the right path and can give you spiritual energy.
  3. Listen to the feeling in your gut, if you feel bad about what you are doing you’re probably not going to feel successful.
  4. Showing off is NOT success.
  5. “I will feel successful when my family is happy and healthy and I feel empowered to speak my mind in any situation knowing that I’m capable of dealing with any consequence.”

Book Mention!!: And NOW this is also a hit Netflix series that we didn’t even know about!

Homework:  Create YOUR definition of success.  Write it down and read it to yourself a few times.  Do a gut check and make an edit if you need to.  Now, think about whether or not you are moving toward these goals or are tirelessly working toward things you don’t really care about. Tell yourself what you are doing well and make a commitment to tweaking the areas that need more attention.
